You can exercise effectively within your target heart rate zone only if you know how fast your heart is beating throughout your workout.  And now thanks to advanced technology, wireless electronic heart rate monitors make tracking heart rate easy and fun to do.

Heart rate, which is reflected in a single number of beats per minute, provides a constant report on your body.  Discover how hard or easy you're exercising, or how fast you're using energy. If you have too low a heart rate and you'll tire too quickly and run the risk of frustration and injury.

Whatever your goals - from improving your overall health to weight management or winning athletic competitions - you can eliminate the guesswork by exercising within a specific target heart rate zone.

The chart illustrates age-related average heart rates based on estimated maximum heart rates, which enables you to achieve your personal goals.  Before starting any strenuous exercise program you should consult a physician.
